Run Holden Beach

Holden Beach is a seaside town on a barrier island in Brunswick County, North Carolina.  It is nationally recognized as one of the premier "Family Beaches" in the USA.  It is primarily a residential community, with a small commercial area and many local restaurants.  Holden Beach is also home to lots of locally owned specialty shops and boutiques, a water slide and miniature golf. The area has multiple well-known golf courses. The Town of Shallotte, just 10 minutes away, has national chain department stores and restaurants in addition to local ones.  Come experience clean water, blue skies, natural wildlife and lots of family fun.

 

Saltwater Revival is within walking distance to several restaurants, Sunset Slush Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Shoppe, Sandman's Candyland Candy Store, Ocean Boulevard Coffee and Bridgeview Park.  At the park you can enjoy the playground, splash pad, free tennis courts and Pavilion which hosts several events each year including free summer concerts every Sunday evening, the NC Festival By the Sea in October and the Days at the Docks Festival in the Spring.

The Holden Beach Marina is located just over the bridge on the mainland if you are interested in reserving a boat slip during your stay.  Want to fish? There is a ICW public fishing pier 1 block from the house or you can fish in the surf. If you are 16 or older, you will need to purchase NC Fishing License. There are also off shore fishing charters available locally.

 

For bike, kayaks, tents, umbrellas and beach chair rentals, check out Boomers Rentals, Beach Fun Rental, Sweet Life Rentals, and Beach Boys Cabana. Most of these companies offer delivery & pickup.  Some of them even offer full service daily set up and take down of cabanas, tents and beach chairs on the beachfront.

Holden Beach requires a parking permit for vehicles (including golf carts) that park in public parking areas.  You can view more info at HBTownHall.com/paid-parking. 

 

Walgreens & Food Lion Grocery Store are 1.5 miles from the house. Brunswick County is host to the 4th of July Celebration in Southport, the NC Oyster Festival at Ocean Isle in October, the Oak Island Lighthouse Run/Walk in April, the Strawberry & Wine Festival in April at Ocean Isle and the Sunset at Sunset Festival on the first Saturday of October in Sunset Beach.

Historic Southport and Myrtle Beach are just a short drive of little more than 30 minutes and make great day trips as well as Wilmington, home of Riverfest in October and the Azalea Festival in the spring.
